The 30-second verdict
A capable indoor-and-outdoor camera unit with no mandatory subscription; paid course credits apply. If you only play indoors, the original Square Golf does the job for much less.

Why this score: 91/100
Evidence-led editorial assessment. We combine credible independent testing, published specifications, owner experience where useful, UK ownership costs and comparative analysis; this is a buying judgement rather than a measured performance margin.
What supports the recommendation
- Indoors and outdoors
- Full club data
Main trade-offs: club stickers, repositioning for mixed handedness, and course credits or software licences.

What independent testing reveals
Independent reviewers found Square Omni easy to set up and reported encouraging indoor results against more expensive reference monitors. Outdoor experiences differed, with one tester reporting distance inconsistencies and another describing a more positive experience. It is a promising indoor shortlist choice; buyers prioritising outdoor use should seek a demonstration in comparable conditions and consider a raised display and protective case.

Read the detailed findings and test limitations
Indoor agreement, outdoor caution
Golf Monthly reported close indoor agreement with its GC3, but inconsistent outdoor distances, including long-iron readings substantially short of expectation. The tester suspected direct sunlight; that cause was not established.
Our interpretation: treat indoor and outdoor suitability separately. If outdoor use is the main purchase reason, seek a demonstration in comparable lighting.

A more positive outdoor experience
National Club Golfer used Omni indoors, on a range and on a course. It reported easy Bluetooth setup and close spin/carry agreement with TrackMan. It also noted the lack of a protective carry case.
Our interpretation: outdoor reports differ. Neither report supplies enough matched conditions to declare one universally representative; protect the unit when transporting it.

Screen comfort
Golf Monthly found the low-positioned display difficult to read comfortably while standing and regarded the native software as less polished than its preferred third-party options.
Our interpretation: an on-device screen does not necessarily remove the need for a raised tablet or display. Include your intended software workflow in the decision.

Evidence limits: Two separately authored hands-on reviews, including indoor and outdoor use. Lighting, setup and software versions may differ; no pooled accuracy score is calculated.
Sources read 5 October 2026. Manufacturer claims, reader comments and repeated summaries are not counted as separate hands-on tests. Reported results are specific to the original test conditions; we do not combine them into a measured performance score.

Why it stands out
Omni is Square Golf’s step up: four cameras, full club data and the ability to work outdoors on grass. It keeps Square’s approach of no mandatory subscription for its own software, with paid course credits after the welcome allowance.
There is no putting mat in the box. Budget for the mat, hitting area and any simulator software you want.
Pros and cons

Owning it: warranty, returns and rules
| Manufacturer warranty | We have not yet verified the UK warranty terms for the Square Golf Omni. Ask the retailer before ordering, and keep your receipt. |
|---|---|
| Left- and right-handed golfers | It sits beside the ball, so it has to be moved to the other side when a left-hander takes over. Rooms shared by both need extra width. |
| Balls and stickers | Club data needs face stickers on the club. |
| Budget beyond the box | For indoor use, budget for a hitting mat and a net or impact screen, and for any simulator software you want. See complete setup costs. |
| Your rights when buying online | Bought online from a UK retailer, you can cancel within 14 days of delivery (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013). If it is faulty you have 30 days to reject it for a full refund, and up to six years (five in Scotland) to claim for a fault that was there at delivery (Consumer Rights Act 2015). |
| Returns at the retailers we link to | Scottsdale Golf: 30 days from receipt, in original condition with packaging and an unused registration card. HotGolf: 14 working days from the day after delivery, unused, and you pay return postage. Amazon UK: most items sold by Amazon can be returned within 30 days. Affordable Golf: check its returns page before ordering. Always remove your personal data from GPS devices before returning them. |
