Golf Gear Lab — Tested. Scored. Trusted.
Our scoring system

How GGL Score™ is calculated.

GGL Score™ is the single Golf Gear Lab rating system. It replaces old star ratings, /10 marks, legacy scoring panels and separate value views so every product can be compared consistently.

The GGL Score™ framework

Every score is out of 100 and weighted around what actually matters when a golfer is deciding whether to buy.

How to read the score

95–100

Exceptional. A category-leading product we would confidently shortlist first.

90–94

Excellent. Strong buying confidence with only minor trade-offs.

85–89

Recommended. Good product, but compare alternatives before buying.

What we removed in V6

We no longer use competing ratings such as star ratings, ten-point marks, buying confidence, value view or battery score. Those made the site harder to trust. GGL Score™ is now the consistent scoring language across the platform.
