FlightScope Mevo Gen2: first look
FlightScope’s current portable launch monitor and the replacement for the Mevo+. This page sets out the verified specification, space needs and costs while our full independent review is pending.

What it is
Mevo Gen2 was announced by FlightScope on 4 August 2025 and replaces the Mevo+, which FlightScope now describes as end-of-run stock. It combines 3D Doppler radar with synchronised image processing (FlightScope calls this Fusion Tracking) and works indoors and outdoors.
The headline changes against the Mevo+ are the price, which fell by close to half at launch, and a 6-hour battery with USB-C charging. The Mevo+ often needed charging after every session.

Space you need
Radar needs depth. Published guidance places the unit about 8 ft (2.4 m) behind the ball, with at least 8 ft (2.4 m) from ball to screen and 13 ft (4.0 m) recommended for the best spin and shot-shape readings. That means a total room depth of about 21 ft (6.4 m) recommended, or roughly 16 ft (4.9 m) at a squeeze, with about 10 ft (3.0 m) of width and 9 ft (2.7 m) of ceiling. For shorter rooms, a side-on camera unit is usually the easier fit.

Who it may suit, and who should look elsewhere
Worth a look if
You practise outdoors as well as at home, have a deep garage or garden room, and want simulator courses without an ongoing subscription.
Look elsewhere if
Your room is short behind the ball (see the Square Golf), or you want a simpler, cheaper radar unit such as the Garmin R10. Early coverage also notes the FS Golf app can feel dated at first.
Assessment status
Not yet tested by Golf Gear Lab. No GGL Score is given and it does not appear in our “Best” rankings until the full assessment is complete. Scores for the Mevo+ are not transferred.
Before ordering
- Measure the full depth from the back wall to the screen, not just the hitting area.
- Check whether the software you want (GSPro, Awesome Golf) needs its own licence.
- Decide whether you need the optional Pro Package club data before comparing prices.
