What independent testing reveals
Golf Monthly found the SX550’s large, responsive screen and detailed maps reassuring on unfamiliar courses. Automatic changes between holes and green views reduced the need to keep handling it. The screen size is a strength for visibility, though the reviewer found repeated pocket use cumbersome and preferred a suitable carrying or mounting arrangement.

The SX550’s 5.5-inch screen is the reason to buy it. Hole maps, green shapes and hazards are big and sharp, which makes it easy to plan shots on courses you do not know.
Check the membership before you buy. The free Par plan covers basics, while Birdie and above unlock SkyCaddie’s best map features for £29.95 to £44.95 a year. Some retailers include a year of Birdie in the box.
