Golf watches, beyond GPS

Watches Golfers Wear

Golf Gear Lab already covers the watches that give you yardages. This section looks at the other side of the question: traditional and luxury watches connected with golfers and the game.

Independent editorial coverage. Golf Gear Lab is not affiliated with, authorised by or endorsed by Rolex SA or any other watch manufacturer. Brand names are used only to identify the products and sporting relationships discussed.

Why this belongs on Golf Gear Lab

Rolex says its enduring relationship with golf began in 1967 with Arnold Palmer and developed through the association with Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player. The brand remains connected with major championships, tours and leading professional golfers. That makes watches worn by golfers a legitimate editorial subject — provided we keep it clearly separate from equipment that actually measures the course.

Our rule: a Rolex is not a golf GPS watch. When a golfer needs distances, maps, scoring or shot tracking, our recommendations remain Garmin, Shot Scope and other purpose-built golf technology.
