What independent testing reveals

Golf Monthly’s Dan Parker liked the CT8 GPS’s compact storage, quiet progress and discreet battery installation. It looks attractive if transport space is a regular frustration. Set the handle height before the round, as his tested unit needed an Allen key rather than a quick adjustment on the course.

The reviewer valued the ability to store it upright and its low-profile design. This report covers the tested CT8 GPS version; battery choice and later hardware should be matched to the model offered.

The report describes the model and software available during its original test. Check the version, current software access and supplied equipment before buying; historical prices are not current purchase terms.

The 30-second verdict

Good-value GPS on PowaKaddy’s compact frame. For most golfers who want GPS on a small-folding trolley, it is the one to compare first.

Buy it if

  • You want GPS on a compact trolley at a sensible price
  • Boot space matters
  • You play hilly courses (EBS version)

Look elsewhere if

  • You want a bigger screen (see the CT12 GPS)
  • You want remote control
  • You already have a GPS watch (see the CT6)
